Ambury Park Centre for Riding Therapy Inc.

A rehabilitation centre using horses to assist young people with a range of health and behaviour difficulties. Established in 1985 as a not for profit organisation, the centre offers a secondary school, a vocational training programme and courses for part-time riders. They are always looking for volunteers to assist with side walking and leading of horses for therapy rides. As most of our riders are unable to ride unassisted, we need volunteers to ensure their rides are enjoyable, safe experiences. Riding therapy is held during school hours during the week, from approximately 9.00am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. You need to be able to walk for an hour on sand as our arena is sand-based, and be able to jog for 30 metres or so at a time. So if you are reasonably fit and have a spare morning, afternoon or few hours, why not consider volunteering at Ambury?
